Food for the Artist

This post, literally, has to do with food.

One of my favorite fairy tales is Seven at One Blow, which describes a poor tailor, or in other versions, a poor artist who buys jam for his bread from a street peddlar. As he is preparing his simple repast, a number of flied settle near his meal, and he whacks at them, dispensing with seven in one blow.

So impressed by his feat, the tailor, or the artist, leaves the studio and heads off and out into the world, to do great and mighty things.

If you're an artist, you are doing great and mighty things in your studio. If you are a collector and a lover of art, you are doing great and mighty things in keeping art alive and well in this world -- because a world without art is a sad place indeed.

Regardless of who or what you are, you have to eat, and Save Money Pork Stew at This Woman Writes is our gift to you on this Tuesday, right in the midst of the work week. You need to eat, and eat well.
